The City of St. Joseph Health Department Animal Control & Rescue shelter, located at 701 Lower Lake Road, will be changing its hours of operation beginning August 18.
The shelter currently runs Monday through Saturday with varying hours. Starting August 18, the shelter will be open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 1-5:30pm.
The Health Department and shelter staff are hopeful that the updated hours will allow more opportunities for the public to visit the shelter and utilize services and that being open on Sundays will increase volunteer engagement and support from the Friends of the Shelter volunteer group.
