The Human Resources Department serves as a steward of the city’s workforce. Staff provides support in the areas of recruitment, testing and hiring as well as coordination of employee benefit programs, training and payroll operations. The department provides staff support to other department directors on a wide variety of personnel related issues.
Special Reviews and Studies
Efforts are focused on studying changing laws, researching and providing advice on questions about existing laws, conducting investigations if claims of discrimination are filed, and responding to inquiries from individual employees as well as senior staff concerning one or more of the programs or employment laws which exist.
Risk Management, a division of the city attorney’s office, is a program designed to protect the assets of the city and minimize risks to the municipality’s property, autos, equipment and employees.
