“NITE RIDE”
Limited Job Access
St Joseph Transit bus service
Effective October 1, 2008
St. Joseph Transit will operate a limited night service schedule, called the “Nite Ride”, designed to provide job access and reverse commute opportunities to St. Joseph residents located in the US Census designated, low-income areas of the city. The service will run five nights a week, starting Monday at 9:15 p.m. through Saturday 5:15 a.m.
This service will provide job access to persons working non-conventional shifts (2nd shift/swing shift and 3rd shift/graveyard) between their homes and places of employment located in Mitchell Woods, Eastside or Stockyards industrial areas, during the hours that regular transit service does not operate.
Due to timeliness and security issues, route deviation service will not be offered on the “Nite Ride.” Passengers may be picked up or dropped off at any point along a direct fixed route, assuming it can be done safely, going to or from one of the industrial areas.
