When we receive a call that a sewer has backed up, we respond as soon as possible, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We first determine what the cause of the blockage is. If it is something we can remedy, we begin work on it immediately. We fill out a sewer report of any property damages and take photos. We hand out a list of suggestions that the property owner should follow.
If the problem is something that we can’t help them with, we notify them that they may wish to contact one of the various private sewer services.
If the problem is one that has happened on other occasions, we televise our main sewer line and try to determine what may be causing it. If we find a problem that is the Cities responsibility we then make the needed repairs.
If the problem is the property owners responsibility, we notify them.
If no apparent problems are found, we place it on our problem area list and check the line monthly.
