Inlets are used to carry surface water to the sewer system. They are found along streets usually at corners, but may be found anywhere along a street. When a call is received to clean an inlet, it is placed on a work ticket. The inlet is cleaned usually within a few days of receiving the call. |

Inlets are cleaned either by hand, using a long handled shovel resembling a spoon, or with mechanized equipment. |
