Starting Off...
A great jumping-off point for this section of the trail is at the monument dedicated to the poet Eugene Field, commemorating his famous piece about Lovers Lane. On Lovers Lane proper, there is a vehicle turn-out to park and then walk or bike the trail to the North.

Experience the Urban Forest ...
The historic Parkway is blessed with miles of urban forest, filled with pocket parks and anchored by Krug and Hyde. On this segment, a user can go right through the heart of the woods on the way to Krug Park.

End of the Road ...
Coming down the final hill to Ferndale completes this segment of the trail. A short crossing (over the bridge) to the Northside Complex places you at the entrance to Krug Park. Future phases would cross under the bridge and head South toward Maple Leaf Parkway.
