St. Joseph residents have been fans of softball for many years and remain a cornerstone of softball in Missouri. Each year over 275 teams participate in St. Joseph Parks & Recreation softball leagues. This translates into approximately 3,500 people who comprise one of the largest softball programs in the state. All adult league play takes place at Heritage Park, six nights a week. And yes, we have a kickball league.

Heritage Park Named 2009 ASA Softball Complex of the Year
The Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) has announced that the Heritage Park Softball Complex has been selected as the 2009 ASA Complex of the Year presented by Stabilizer Solutions Ballyard Products.

Spring/Summer Session

• April – July
• 10 league games
• Men, Women, Co-ed slowpitch divisions
• Men’s Fastpitch division
• Team fee includes softballs
• Amateur Softball Association registration
• Game official(s) provided
• Champion T-shirts for league winners
• Friday Night Co-Ed Kickball League

Fall Session

• August – October
• 6 league games
• Men, Women, Co-ed slowpitch divisions

Heritage Park Softball Complex
2202 Water Works Road (North of St. Jo Frontier Casino)

• 4 – 300’, 1 – 250’ fully-irrigated fields
• Each field has covered dugouts and scoreboards
• Championship field has permanent “chair-backed” seating for 400+ and another 1,200 bleacher-style seating along with a press box
• All fields have “state-of-the-art” MUSCO Lighting System
• Infields are clay and vulcanized red clay from West Texas
• Designated warm-up areas
• Paved/lighted parking lot for 300+
• 6,000 square foot Center Pavilion with full service concession stand, restrooms and seating for 120+
• Fenced and covered 2,200 sq. ft. playground system with a "safety" rubber floor
• Misting "cooling" station
