Mike Dalsing has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Tarkio College and an Associate Degree in Fire Science from the Community College of the Air Force. He has attended classes at the National Fire Academy, Emmitsburg, Maryland. He is a Missouri certified EMT – Paramedic. He served 23 years for the Missouri Air National Guard Fire Department, ten years as fire chief, and retired as Chief Master Sergeant.

Dalsing has been a member of the department since December of 1979 and was named Fire Chief in September of 2008. He is a native of St. Joseph, is active in the community and currently a board member of the St. Joseph Youth Soccer Association and St Joseph Safety Council. He was named the 2007 Recipient of the InterServ Service to Youth Award. He is married to wife Cheryl, and has two children, Josh and Kristin.
