Parking Fine Schedule
Parking Tickets may be issued by the St. Joseph Police Department or the Public Parking Enforcement staff. Tickets must be paid or protested within 48 hours of issuance. Penalties begin at 5 days and are assessed again at 10 days. Click here for a schedule of fines- Parking Fine Schedule. This fine schedule also references the City Code of Ordinance Section of Chapter 28 in which a definition of the violation can be found.
Parking fines may be paid in person at City Hall, 1100 Frederick Ave., in Room 106 or mailed to: City of St. Joseph, 1100 Frederick, Room 106, St. Joseph, MO 64501.
If you would like to protest the issuance of the Parking Citation, please fill out the Parking Request for Dismissal Form and send to: City of St. Joseph, 1100 Frederick, Room 107, St. Joseph, MO 64501. You may also fax it to (816) 271-4752. The City Prosecutor reviews all requests for dismissal and returns her finding within 7-10 business days
If you accumulate more than 10 outstanding tickets, a wheel immobilization devise may be placed upon your car if parked upon the public right of way. If the devise is applied, an additional fee of $50.00 will be assessed in addition to the fines already due.
