  1. Free Skate to Super Powers Clinic and Open House

    January 20, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Bode Sports Complex

    The public is welcome to join us at Bode for a free public skating, "Skate to SUPERPOWERS" clinic and open house. This event welcomes potential skaters to an afternoon filled with fun, skill introduction and development, education and motivation. The clinic will allow participants of ALL ages to get out to experience skating and learn the basics from professional instructors in a fun-filled environment. Clinic starts at 1:00 pm, Sunday, January 20, 2019 and includes free skating, free instruction and door prizes until the event ends at 3:00 pm. Parks and Recreation Events

  1. Adult Cornhole League (six game league) Registration

    January 10, 2:15 PM - January 23, 5:00 PM @ Parks Administration Offices

    The St. Joseph Parks, Recreation, & Civic Facilities Department will host an indoor adult cornhole league on Wednesday nights at Fairview Golf Course, 3202 Pacific Street. The league will only consist of doubles matches. Cornhole or bean bag toss is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Teams will consist of two players, per team. The first team that scores 21 points wins. The best two - of - three wins in a match, or whoever may be leading at the end of a 45 minute time limit will be declared the winner of the match. Cost - $30 per team. League games meet on Wednesday nights beginning January 30 at Fairview Golf Course. The first match each evening begins at 6 pm. Space is limited to the first 24 teams and the league is filling up quickly. All schedules are final. Get and return your registration form to the Parks Office.

Remington Nature Center

  1. Snake Meet-And-Greet!

    January 20, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM @ Remington Nature Center

    Want to learn more about reptiles? On Sunday, January 20th, from 1:30pm-3pm, our Remington Nature Center volunteer will have some of our education snakes out for our guests to informally see up close. Learn more about snakes, and you are also allowed to (safely) touch and hold our non-venomous education snakes during this come-and-go, meet-and-greet activity, anytime between 1:30pm and 3pm. This activity is included in the admission cost of $4 per adult, $3 for seniors 60 years and older, and $2 for youth ages 4-15. Children three and younger are no charge. While you are visiting the Remington Nature Center, make sure to tour all the exhibits and participate in the monthly indoor scavenger hunt; find all the hidden items and win a prize! The Remington Nature Center is open 1pm-5pm on Sundays.
