    Hosted by Mayor Bill McMurray and former St. Joseph Mayors Bill Falkner, Glenda Kelly, Larry R. Stobbs, David J. Jones & Ken Shearin, this annual event benefits the Second Harvest Community Food Bank. Purchase your ticket to this wonderful event featuring entertainment by the O’Riada Manning Academy of Irish Dance. Social hour begins at 4:00 pm followed by a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at 5:00 pm. A cash bar will be available. Please RSVP to the Second Harvest Community Food Bank, Attn: Mayors’ Thanksgiving Dinner, 915 Douglas, St. Joseph, MO 64505, info@ourcommunity.foodbank.org, or by calling (816) 364-3663.   2. Remington Nature Center Ten-Year Happy Birthday Bash!

    The Remington Nature Center is celebrating ten years of operation, and it’s time to celebrate! From 10am-3pm on Saturday, November 17th, we are bringing together old friends and new friends for an epic day of fun and education for everyone. Some of the activities and events will include a variety of small animals to see and touch, a petting farm, education animals such as tarantulas, snakes, and hissing cockroaches, and face painting. Cake will be served to the first 200 guests from 12pm-2pm, or until it is gone. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors 60 years and older, and $2 for youth ages 4-15. All youth ages 15 years and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Admission covers all of the activities plus touring the nature center, a scavenger hunt, and much more.   3. Friday Fish Feeding and Tortoise Time!

    November 23, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Remington Nature Center

    Join staff at the Remington Nature Center in worm cutting for the aquarium fish. Kids can cut up worms for the fish at 10:30am, and then watch as Nature Center staff feeds the fish their weekly diet of worms, corn, peas, and minnows. All kids will receive a fish feeding sticker badge. At 11am, join Nature Center Naturalist Shelly Cox for 'Tortoise Time!' Meet three rescued tortoises, and watch as she gives them their breakfast. This event will occur at 11am, after fish feeding. In addition to Fish Feeding and Tortoise Time, guests can tour the Nature Center, and kids can also participate in the November monthly scavenger hunt. All activities are included in the admission price. ($4 for adults, $3 for seniors 60 years and older, and $2 for youth ages 4-15. Children three and younger are no charge.)
